The tournament will have a total of eight top cricket teams in the world competing for a grand prize – the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 which will be hosted in Pakistan and UAE from February 19 to March 9. 

This edition of the Champions Trophy will be the first major global cricket tournament being hosted in Pakistan since 1996 when the country had jointly hosted the ODI World Cup along with India and Sri Lanka. It will be played in the 50-over-per-side One Day International (ODI) format.

On this occasion, the top eight teams from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, including host Pakistan, will compete for the ninth edition of the tournament, which will see a total of 15 matches contested.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Teams

England became the first team to announce their 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 on December 22. However, all-rounder Jacob Bethell was forced to withdraw after sustaining a hamstring injury.

India’s 15-member squad will be led by Rohit Sharma, though pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah misses out due to an incomplete recovery from a back injury. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dropped in favor of Varun Chakravarthy in the final selection.

South Africa named Corbin Bosch as a replacement for pacer Anrich Nortje, who was sidelined with a back injury. Meanwhile, Afghanistan swapped the injured Allah Ghazanfar for Nangialai Kharoti.

New Zealand also made late changes, replacing the injured Ben Sears (hamstring) with Jacob Duffy after receiving approval from the Event Technical Committee. Fast bowler Kyle Jamieson was later approved as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson.

Pakistan made a key change as well, bringing in Imam-ul-Haq to replace Fakhar Zaman, who suffered an oblique injury during the team’s opening match against New Zealand.
